Stronger Communities - 26/01/2010
A recent Community Development Alliance Scotland (CDAS) seminar, entitled “Stronger Communities”, argued that our communities make a fundamental contribution to making Scotland a wealthier and fairer place to live. The event brought together people from all sectors to share experience and explore ideas about how to strengthen communities and enhance their contribution to creating alternative skills and jobs, building resilience through social capital, developing social enterprises and providing community learning and development.
The event took place in November 2009 in Stirling, and slides or notes from the following event presentations are now available for download from the CDAS website:
-
Developing the potential for social enterprise Colin Campbell, Senscot
-
The changing face of volunteering George Thomson, Volunteer Development Scotland
-
Building and sustaining personal resilience John Jackson, Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health
-
