Joseph Rowntree Report - The Impact of Devolution - 14/01/2010

This report has been published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.  The report looks to provide an assessment of the impact following devolution in 1997 on Area-based Regeneration, through experience of poverty in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

While there is a common delivery of area-based regeneration policies in devolved administrations, there is divergence in detail and delivery mechanisms.  This study looks to provide and assessment via a series of visits to regeneration projects throughout the UK.

As a result of these visits the study identifies the relevant policies in each region and employs an observational framework to assess the impact of policies on the ground.  Furthermore the paper explores key factors determining the impact of regeneration programmes and reviews the current trends in UK policy.
