Design Skills Symposium - 31/08/2010
Design Skills Symposium
31st August and 1st September 2010
Climate change is one of the most significant challenges of our time. Scotland has set out ambitious targets to meet this challenge through the Climate Change Act. The planning reform agenda couples this aim with, ‘the creation of places where people want to be.’
Planning for places in a low carbon future is a key issue for planners, developers, designers and citizens. The Design Skills Symposium is a two day non-residential training event that seeks to provide an opportunity to use design skills to meet this challenge.
The event is a collaboration between Architecture and Design Scotland, Scottish Centre for Regeneration, Improvement Service and Architecture and Place Division. It is aimed at everyone involved in the shaping and delivery of places in Scotland
Klas Tham of Gehl Architects, the internationally renowned designer who led the design and delivery of Bo01 in Malmö will address the Symposium in September as an international expert. More information about this recent announcement can be found here.
